Our federation enablement programme, VOICE, is designed to strengthen the visibility, credibility, and sustainability of Indian federations. This initiative provides the essential tools for Organizational Development (OD) and robust governance.
VOICE is our federation enablement programme that takes a holistic approach to building lasting institutional strength. Through integrated support in governance, leadership, digital presence, and member services, we work alongside federations to create sustainable pathways for credibility, visibility, and long-term impact.
The programme operates on the principle that strong federations are built through continuous and interconnected development, addressing not only immediate organisational needs, but also laying the foundations for long-term resilience, stronger participation, and sustainable growth.
We use 158 performance parameters across 8 core domains.
We help form secretariats, strengthen existing boards, and build new ones.
We assist with marketing and communication, including website development and social media strategy.
Our goal is to drive deeper participation and impact for member organizations.
Currently, we partner with six federations in South India. Together, they represent nearly 300 NGOs dedicated to supporting India’s most vulnerable groups, including Dalit women, manual scavengers, and people living with HIV.

The VOICE programme provides a comprehensive framework to transform Social Sector Federations into powerful, self-sustaining entities. We focus on five strategic areas.
We guide Federations toward impactful policy initiatives by helping them develop the core planning tools required for advocacy and influence.
We provide hands-on support in building a solid foundation for Federations through board engagement, committee formation, and a dedicated Secretariat for day-to-day operations.
To help Federations achieve their mandated policy goals, we provide the tools, techniques, processes, and human capital development needed to lead those initiatives effectively.
A Federation is only as strong as its members. We design interventions that strengthen member capability and develop high-value services to attract and retain NGOs.
We help Federations secure representation on Government committees so their issues are heard, while also building sustainability plans for independent long-term fundraising and growth.
The VOICE initiative is a comprehensive, hands-on journey designed to foster growth and collaboration among Social Sector Federations.

A federation that began with fragmented member participation used VOICE to strengthen governance, define shared priorities, and improve member services. The result was stronger alignment, clearer advocacy goals, and a more confident public presence.
With practical support on governance structures and role clarity, federation leadership moved from ad hoc coordination to a more stable secretariat model. That shift improved internal decision-making and created a stronger base for long-term sustainability.
By improving communication systems, digital visibility, and structured planning, member organisations were able to represent their priorities more clearly and build wider recognition for the federation’s work.

The strength of the programme is that it combines reflection with action. Teams are not just learning concepts, they are building systems, roles, and routines that stay in place after the workshops end.
What changed most for us was confidence. Once member services, communication, and governance became clearer, the federation could represent community voices more strongly in larger forums.
